Yes, acupuncture is an extremely gentle, safe and effective treatment option for many chronic pain conditions, acute injuries, and various medical conditions.

People feel little to no discomfort at the acupuncture site.  Some people feel amazed at the sensation of Qi (energy) as it moves throughout their body.  Most people feel energized by the treatment while others feel deeply relaxed and fall asleep.

Acupuncture has a cumulative effect. Although some respond in just a few visits, most require more. Cynthia designs individualized treatment plans based on patient assessment and intake information, which she discusses at the initial visit. The plans are updated as needed after reassessing the patient’s response to treatment.

On your first visit, we will discuss your medical history, current health, and medical concerns. Diagnosis includes your pulse will be checked and tongue assessed.  Then we will discuss your goals and develop a treatment plan based on your needs.

The common side effects are increased energy, improved mood, digestion and sleep.

Yes, acupuncture is safe, if performed by a licensed acupuncturist! On occasion, there is the risk of bruising, soreness or minor bleeding at the site of the needling. The skin is cleaned with alcohol prior to insertion.  Separate sterile, pre-packed needles are used for each patient and disposed of in a medical sharps container.
